Based on the name I think this is one of the fat face designs cut at the Bruce Foundry in New York. IIRC the Bruce foundry sold matrices to some other foundries (See David Bruce Jr.’s History of Type…2 -

I like it. But the massive x-height combined with the flared terminals and gaping apertures on S, a and e make it feel like those weird fonts ITC did in the 70s and 80s rather than wood type.5
